Major Driver Problem

I recently bought a HP Pavillion dv5-1235dx laptop. It came with windows Vista Home edition. I installed a clean 64-bit Vista Ultimate the first day. This was my first experience doing a clean install. I didn't back up the drivers, partly because i didn't know how, but mostly because i forgot. Now i am left with doing it myself. I have gotten the driver for the ethernet port, but my graphics are not up to par, according to a diagnostics test. Any Ideas?

alright. Thanks, but do i need all of them? or just a select few? because that graphics card one is not the graphics card i have. i have an integrated graphics card.

No you do not need them all, coz it list all the drivers which are not for ur pc. For example, it has listed both the intel pro wireless and broadcom WLAN drivers, but u will only need one.
Refer to ur manual to know which hardwares u have got. For graphics, do u see any sticker on ur laptop that says, nvidia integrated graphics or something like that. If not, then u will need the intel chipset graphics driver. Or if there is nvidia, graphics card, u will have to install the nvidia driver.
Or simple, u have got the ethernet driver, connect it to internet, goto device manager and update it driver from there. It will automatically search the internet to install the correct driver.

will it do anything harmful if i just download them all and try to install them? i'm just being lazy. :)

it also says that i need to update the video controller. any idea what driver for the HP site would fix that. i also have some unknown devices that need drivers. hmmm....

U should be exact on the drivers of ur video or sound. For other devices, u can try all the drivers to see which one worked.

There is a free program called DriverMax. It will automatically install the drivers by searching online. I have used it once. Found quite good. Remember to make a system restore point before updating a driver by any third party program, so in case anything goes wrong, u can rollback the changes.
