Major net problems, ideas?

First off, I doubt the people who should read this will, but if I didn't follow up on posts as I usally do, I'm sorry. Many times, I'll type a responce and them my internet will be dead when I try to post it!

Now then, maybe someone could help me with the problem... The symptoms are simple... The internet just plain won't work. It's almost always down when I first try and use it in the mornings. Then it just randomly goes down during the day. The speed hasn't changed, it just works and then doesn't work... About the only way to fix it is to unplug the modem(maybe reset it, but I can't get access to the modems here...

Now, here's the part I really don't understand... Some guys came by(as I requested) and checked the signal of the line and such, saying that it was a problem thoughout these apartments(just so you know, we each have a Road Runner cable modem in our rooms) However, many times when I loose my connection, I can't access the modem's configuration page. I have to reset it before I can do that. Call me crazy, but if it's not the modem, then why the hell can't I log into the modem!?
 
I'll call you crazy if you want, but I think you're just frustrated. I've had instances where I couldn't log into my router's config page, and a reset did the trick. I don't actually know either whether it's something that's come down the line that the router didn't like, or the router's overheated or what. But I'd be inclined to think it's a modem problem, rather than anything else. Sometimes it'd be as simple as ipconfig /release /renew to get it back up. :confused:

The best guys to help you would probably be the ISP, next time it goes down they'd be able to test each stage of the connection. You say a guy came round saying it's a problem in the apartments? Where did he leave that with you? Are they coming to fix it or what?
 
Well first off, realize I was talking about the modem, not the router, which I actually don't have connected anymore. I would just think I could connect to it, regardless... But if I can't connect to it OR the internet, hmm :P

Hmm...well, it's been fine the past few hours, so HOPFULLY it will keep working! At least for another week or so while I'm still here.
