I use my PC for gaming and have what I believe to be a good graphics card:

I get lag on a lot of games so I am wondering if it something to do with my CPU(bottlenecking):
Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2GHz (2 CPUs)
Which I am pretty sure isn't that great so I plan to upgrade.
This means replacing the outdated mobo and ddr2 RAM.
Will I also have to replace the GPU?
I have a budget of €250 for this major upgrade
I have chosen this CPU:

AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core
I chose this because apparently the CPU isn't that important when gaming,is this the right choice?
I am unsure whether to go with standard or micro atx for the mobo, please tell me which one would suit my needs.
Also I have a standard ATX case, will I have to get a new case?
Also is there anything else to consider?
Also any suggestions must be available on Amazon UK as where I live it is my only option.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!

You can get this board.

I'd go ahead and get an FX 8320 if you've got the budget for it right now.

Your GPU isn't top of the line but it's no slouch by any means. You should be gaming on medium/high on new games and high on anything older than really 2012, expecially considerng your resolution. What's your power supply? What games are you playing?

RAM - Could also consider G skill DDR3 2133, faster than Hyper X, but cheaper

Mobo - Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P is a good alternative, and it is £5 cheaper.

If you overclock your CPU, you could consider aftermarket HFS.

What PSU have you got?

BTW, What motherboard have you got? if you are not playing high demanding game, you could consider grab an old Q8200 for £25 - 30 on ebay, if your motherboard can take it.

Cisco, for that RAM to work, the OP would need to overclock. 2133 is the rated speed, and that just means how fast it can run with overclocking IIRC. That board is decent, I recommend getting the Asus or Gigabyte, whatever's cheaper at the time. Though I don't recommend getting aftermarket HSF on your budget. What PSU do you have, as Cisco also asked?

Hi,
try to get a fast SSD driver, it will completely change your PC performances, and the prices are dropped for 64/128 GB models!
