Make backup of original XP OEM CD's

I had purchased original XP OEM CD's with some desktops couple of years back. I have both XP-Pro and XP-Home. Can I make a backup of these incase the original disk is damaged. Best would be if I can make an ISO and could it able to burn it back when needed. Is this possible.
 
As long as you're not circumventing any DRM/copy protection stuff, it's perfectly legal to make backup copies for yourself and only yourself.

Circumventing and DRM is technically illegal [EDIT: in majority of western countries anyways], but IMO (morally?) acceptable, as long as you keep the copies to yourself as backups.

Windows installation discs, at least XP, should have no copy-protection whatsoever, so you should be alright. And yes, you can make an image too.
 
Thanks for the replies. I will make the ISO's just for backup. Its for my own self only. I understand that.
