I hate the gimp 
F**cking loath it. I made the mistake of setting all the image file types to gimp in setup and couldn't get them back unless I did a System Restore which uninstalled some software.
I'd use...urm... ...(can't remember)...oh yeah Jasc Animation Shop 3. I know it's not free but easy to use.
