make power supply cables?

I'm no expert but... If you buy the parts from the site you linked then I would imagine you would just need

  1. a soldering iron
  2. some appropriate solder
  3. a pair of cutters
  4. some wire strippers
Try to stick to the same wiring colours to avoid confusion

  • Yellow
  • Black
  • Red
are the three different wire colours you will need;)

If looking at the male Molex connector so you can see the round pins facing you and the two chamfered edges at the top- the wiring colours go

Yellow
Black Black Red

Obviously reverse this for the Female socket(the one with the pins)
Assuming you are talking about Molex connections

So What make of Modular PSU are you using? I assume that some are different wiring connections to others otherwise you would just buy a set of cables complete surely? Therefore... you are probably going to need a wiring diagram of the power supply in question I would think.

Is it really cheaper to make your own from the site you linked or just order some replacements from the manufacturer?

As for the HDD light- I'm pretty sure they're around 2.2-3V LED's that are used which would need to be wired correctly as having it the wrong way round will blow the LED as Diodes only let current flow in one direction ;)

Just buy the cables, they are like $1.50 apiece. Unless you are doing some sort of mod...then I understand what you are doing.

im gunna use a corsair 1000hx psu, and im not going to do that, im going to make custom cables that are shorter, they'll be easier to sleeve this way too, as im going to do each piece of cable sleeved individually, i know i could cut and solder, but i would rather remake the cables

can you get the end plug stripped down(either end will do) and then just take the required length off of the cable and reassemble(solder/crimp)

Would no doubt save you time and money.
