I posted earlier about this, but I don't think it went through cause I can't find it but I was just wondering what things are necessary to make a website. I know I need to buy a domain, but do I need to pay a site for the domain, site builder (i dont know html) and hosting because that can get expensive. How much do you think I'll have to spend to get one up and running?

Hello,

Okay you will need prob frontpage 2003 its kinda like frontpage, and its very easy to use.. lots better then site builder.. you will need a site, with CPANEL hostin, (easier) >. and ya.

I can make you a website if youd like, and host it for free :)

Let me know :)

if you're a beginner and want to be professional with html then what you do is get dreamweaver or frontpage, find a awesome website to copy source code out of lol.

Fontpage is your best... but will not work if ur trying with CSS or PHP..

Dreamwerver is a lil harder ++ ... but lets u do more diff souce coding.

As a beginner I would highly recommend that you buy a beginners book on html and just use a text editor. Then move onto learning CSS and put them together. Don't overlook graphics, simple things like banners / logos etc. can make or break a website!

There isn't much point using an online site builder as most of the time they look er... rubbish to say the least.

Then you can build your own site exactly how you want it. You will then need webspace and a domain. Domain's are very cheap but if you want decent reliable, well supported webspace you will need to pay for it. It doesn't have to be hugely expensive but if you choose a free one then you get what you pay for....

Personally I use Yahoo Small Business for my domain and AFMU (http://www.afmu.com) for webspace (I use Plan B with AFMU).

There are a bunch of places you can go for a domain and hosting, probably one of the biggest and cheapest is GoDaddy.com you can get a cheap domain $9, and if you get hosting you can get the domain for $1... I bought 4 domains, and a year of hosting for $56 the other night.

As far as HTML goes. Do it yourself... learn.... you'll be able to do a lot more, you'll make it look better, and usually it's more fun to know that you made something that looks different, and isn't just a "cookie-cutter" site.

I suggest www.w3schools.com and www.HTMLgoodies.com

They have tons of tutorials and example HTML for just about anything you'll want to do.
