Making a wireless key/password

I recently noticed a strange computer that has appeared in my network. He's definitely not going with wired :rolleyes:, and thus wireless is the only other way. I have a Linksys WRT54GS Router. I have enabled MAC Filtering and all Firewalls. How should I make a WEP key to block him/her? Thanks :)
 
dont use wep use wpa or even better wpa2. then think of a very hard long password like...

No one would guess that or loo is not in the dicinary so it cant be found in there so... they are left to brute force in which case would take them 1000000 years... at the least
 
i've read that wep can be cracked within 7 seconds.

upgrade your firmware to get wpa2. it's the best encryption thus far. use the example above for your password. mine has numbers and foreign words. i used up all the allowed spaces. as a matter of fact i'd really like to see if i can crack my own connection.... but i don't have the tools to do so.

which version of linksys do you have? if it's one of the earlier ones (version 1-4) then it uses linux and there are hacked firmwares out there. these firmwares are considered much better over the linksys firmwares. this is especially true if you p2p.
