Making and hosting a website

I really don't know too much about this, but my mums boss has asked me if i would like to have a go at making their company a website. So, as any enthusiast would, i said yes.

I know that i need to learn a language, so i went to my local library and found a beginners guide to HTML.

What i would like to know is:

- Is HTML a good language?
- How much do domains cost and how do i go about getting one?
- Could i use a program such as Frontpage to make the website and upload it to the domain?
