Making Chrome ask me about updating

Is there a way to make Chrome ask me before it updates itself? I can't seem to find the option for that. It's very annoying when I run it and suddenly my computer's resources are completely colonized and everything is slow because Chrome decided on its own to update itself.

Not that I know of. I think a member here complained about and felt like Chrome took some liberty of of him by automatically updating without asking... I don't see why it's so annoying, even if it asks you it will still take those ressources when it'll update...
