making new computer.What parts shoud i get?

hey, im making a new computer that i may play a few games on, maybe... maybe crysis or something else. i was wondering how good of a rig this might be. i was also hoping to overclock a core 2 [email protected] to somewhere around 2.8 or even 3. will these parts work?

other thought: instead of me buying xp, can i use a 40Gb IDE hard drive from an old dell desktop with a IDE to SATA adapter to run xp through that hard drive, and also to keep some old adio and video files. also then id have pre-downloaded security and anti-virus software. will that work?
 
most likely taking out only the HD and not the mobo to transfer on another computer won't work unless you're lucky. the BIOS is different and when you install XP onto the HD, the hardware configuration gets saved on your HD.

I know what your saying. The p35 chip sounds good. But I have a problem with the price range. Hopfully what you have suggested will work. If I buy the motherboards you sugested I will have to pay extra for a processor with a higher FSB and I don't have the money. If you don't mind can you help me find a motherboards with a 800FSB and DDR2 800. I believe this cheaper and correct, though you most likely know lots more than I. Thank you for the help. Of I am wrong please let me know. Thank you
