Making your ram to less work

Is it possible to make my ram do less work as its running at around 65% witch is working its arse off but ive got 4gb ram! More then enough aint it is there a way i can bring the % down. could this be because im running a cheap quality ram ? plus im running windows 32bit witch only allow you to run 3gb that suck i have 1gb not doing nothing.

Running 65% of 3GB? Sounds about right. You could shutdown apps and processes?

But why would you want to unless you are having issues. RAM is good as long as you don't run out. It is good you are making use of.

No RAM "quality" has nothing to do with usage.

There are apps to reclaim RAM but why? Then when it kicks something out and you go to reuse you get the page file hit.

Vista does a fine job let it do it's thing.

ok but it sucks that i cant use full 4gb my pc would be faster to :( i need 64bit man is windows 7 better then vista?

Yes W7 is better.

Are you getting lots of HDD hits and activity every time you do something? If not I doubt you will see much difference. 3GB should be plenty for Vista 32.

lol im new to this computer tech so i dont know what hdd hits and activity is do you mind telling me what it is yeh ive got 3gb ram well something aint working soon as i open like 3 apps at onces it gets really slow and ram goes to like 70%
 
Pull up task manager by pushing Control + Alt + Delete keys. What is your processor activity when the system slows down?

What programs are you running when you experience slow downs?
 
That is how memory works. If you are using too much virtual memory, ie your system slows, you may want to quit some apps that are running in the background.

There should be plenty of threads already about speeding up your PC on this forum, just use the search function.
