Malwarebytes Malicious Website Blocked

I just started getting a popup window advising that Malwarebytes has blocked a malicious website. Never seen this before...

Domain: ap.lijit.com
IP: 169.55.70.175
Port: 51505
Type: Outbound
Process: --- firefox.exe

What am I supposed to do with this?

You can ignore it. Malwarebytes is blocking whatever it is.

It's either the website itself that you're visiting is malicious, or there is something in the website that is malicious.

Are you visiting or have you ever visited that site? If not, then you are infected and need to run some scans.

To the best of my memory, I've never visited that site. The popup just started appearing while Firefox was running. Now, it seems to be gone(?) I ran a scan with my antivirus and it showed no issues.

If you get it again, you'll need to scan with with other programs besides your antivirus.

ADWcleaner
Junkware tool removal tool
Malwarebytes

Even if its a site he's never visited it can come from an embedded ad, etc. and is not necessarily an indication that he is infected.

You can be on www.cnn.com and still see a block for www.randomgiberish.com even though you've never been to www.randongiberish.com

I would still scan the system especially if web browser isn't open and getting this message. Never had this on my system but have seen it on my clients many times. Always scanned and found crap, was always able to get rid of it.

He said it came up while Firefox was running. So it's possible he has a bad add-on that got installed.

That popup only occurred for a few hours, and only while Firefox was running. Malwarebytes apparently repeatedly blocked it. Then is seems to have gone away(?) I've run scans with Malwarebytes and McAfee (my ISP's security package) with no threats found. If it was from a "bad add-on", how would I identify and address?

Run adwcleaner and junkware removal tool programs. Links are in the sticky. Sorry on my phone at the moment.
