There probably saying that because nVidia is releasing the rest of the 8xxx line around March, ranging from the 8300 to new versions of the 8800.

since nvidia doesn't make their own cards, unlike ati, they don't really dictate prices

i mean, hell, the 8800gtx ranges from $575 to 800!
