mass effect problem

hey guys, so i bought mass effect today. i went home and installed it on to my laptop. well it finshed everything and i went to go play it and it comes up with and error saying that mass effect has stopped working. now i dont know what is causing this. i went on to their support website and looked around and nothing. i reinstalled it and nothing the same thing happens. so if u guys could please help

What exactly does the error say?
Are you on Vista or XP?

you could try updating it but that might need the game to start to work... to epidemik, his pc is new so i would guess it has Vista.

I just got the game and it ran great. Then again, I use Windows XP. I think it might be a Vista issue or something. Look for any patches.

yeah im on vista cuz its brand new laptop and the game just came out like 3 days ago or something so no patches yet >.<
