Mass Effect, wow.

I just beat Mass Effect and I have to say I was impressed. Before KOTOR and this game I was never really into RPG's but I think if they keep making RPG's like this I will be sticking around RPG's.

I know some people complained about bugs but I really didn't see any. One time I got stuck but I saved shortly before it happened so I didn't lose anything. Plus the game was fun challenging, not break my balls hard. I am not too crazy about boss battles but the few Mass Effect had were fun.

So I am wondering if anyone else played and beat the game? What did you think? Finally I heard this game is going to be a trilogy, when will we see the second and third installment? I couldn't find anything. I am hoping #2 will be out within a year or at least less than two. If anybody knows, even an estimate I would love to hear.
 
I'm waiting for the PC release of this game, It's not been verified yet, but it's obviously going to happen sooner or later. At I hope, Bioware hasn't even commented when queried... Anyways, the trilogy is going to spread out over the 360's lifespan, which is supposed be 5+ years, it's already been out 2, so we can expect the next two games to be released in 1.5 year intervals, give or take a couple months. Finally I believe there are plans to release episodic content on Live to stem the wait between the releases. Great idea, if only I had a 360..

Thats too bad they don't make it for the PC, the game would be great on the PC. If they do release it on the PC I hope they don't do a "Halo". Releasing it on the console, then on the PC 2-3 years later.

Waiting one and a half years isn't bad, I waited two years for Halo 2 and 3 so I can do it again. Can you be more specific with the Xbox Live downloads? Will they add more quest, planets, equipment? I would love that.
 
I believe the content will be along those lines, they've said it will serve to fill in the blanks between the games.

I hope they don't pull a Halo as well. It's to be expected that Mass Effect, a 360 heavy-hitter, would be held back from another platform in the beginning to promote 360 sales growth. But If the port is on their priority list, if it's on their list at all, it shouldn't take too long for it's inevitable release. Lets see if i have the patience. :D
 
Nice, I want to try out the other classes soon and this added content will make the game seem newer. You got to have patience, this game is worth the wait.
 
Hey I liked Fable. Sure Peter Molyneux inflated that game beyond it's limits, but unlike most people I didn't go into it expecting the "greatest RPG ever", and I enjoyed it. The length was a bit bit short though, doesn't bother me, i should've just rented it instead!

Mass effect's length is supposed to be 18-30 hours, more if you are disposed to finishing every side quest and such. Sounds just right, I can't count the games I've been put off because they were too long... Oblivion notwithstanding :D

I was never really into RPG's but compared to Knights of the Old Republic it seems short. I won Mass Effect in just under 30 hours (Or 5 days worth of playing) playing on normal difficulty. If I remember correctly it took me like 50 hours to win KOTOR. I would consider that a negative.

Yea I did Mass Effect in about 29-30 hours. This was after doing all the quest. I was left wanting at least another 20 hours.
 
I might've agreed with you a couple years ago, but lately I'm starting to hate long games. I never finished The Witcher, really a great game, but too long. I get bored of everything, and considering that the combat in mass effect is kinda forgettable (based on what I've read), I dunno if I could stay awake through it all!
 
I hate short games, I enjoy something that last for a long time. That is why I was so attracted to KOTOR and Mass Effect. Mass Effect's combat I liked because you actually get to aim the weapon, unlike in KOTOR you use action buttons.
 
I was thinking about buying this game... but I didnt know anything about the gameplay or whatshowever, so (ofc) I didnt. what's the gameplay like?
 
I personally found the game enjoyable. A little short for an RPG but I felt it had an excellent story. I really liked how it combined the best of an RPG and Shooter. Its an RPG at heart but in Mass Effect you can take cover, aim your weapon, all while using your powers. The other problem I noticed with the game is sometimes you can get stuck to a wall. I read a few reviews where they complained about this, but this only happened to me once while playing.
