linkin VIP Member Aug 10, 2010 #1 Whats the maximum temperature for this chip? mines a C2 revision, just ran a 15 minute prime95 test and the temps peaked at 53c across all cores. I'm going to try and overclock tonight, people say you can hit 3.5ghz on stock voltage so that's what I intend to do.

joh06937 New Member Aug 10, 2010 #2 the max temp is probably around 70 C, but i wouldn't allow it to get that high, at least for everyday use.

linkin VIP Member Aug 10, 2010 #4 okay no problems I just went from 220fsb to 240fsb, changed the memory settings around so it's at 1600mhz and everything seems stable, temps about the same at idle (29c) Time for Prime95.

linkin VIP Member Aug 10, 2010 #5 Okay had to up the voltage one notch to ~1.4v but everything appears stable at 3.5Ghz, temps peaked at 65c. New cooler is definately in order.
