Maximum RAM

Hi. My father has a Toshiba 1415-S115 notebook and has 512 of RAM currently installed. He says the pics are slow loading and wants to load an additional 512 of RAM into it and I said the sites I have looked at indicate a total allowed of 512. If he puts more in, isn't it just wasted money? Will he benefit from more RAM? Does anyone have information on the specification being different than this? Thanks!

Oh, Nevermind

My father led me to believe he was doing this to his Toshiba. He meant his HP Pavilion which can take 2 gigs!

defrag it and remove unneccessary programs that run at startup and then see if it's still slow
