MAXING out x2 3800

there is no clear answer. it all depends. the only way to find out is just by testing it yourself.(read Overclocking 101)

Cooling is important but not as much as you might expect with the manchester core. They run pretty cool at about 2.6 Ghz with the stock cooler. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't pay attention to cooling but unless you plan on cranking it into vapochill requirements, your main focus should be on your memory. If you choose the right memory then you should be able to get it clocked to 2.55 to 2.6 Ghz with relative ease with timings of 3-3-3-8 1T memory timings. I recommend that you review OCZ and Corsair memory for best results.

i'm using this memory:
OCZ EL 1GB Kit DDR400 CL 2-3-2-6

sorry i'm a bit new to the oc thing, but how should i do with this memory?
i also have a asus A8N-deluxe mobo

Once you raise the FSB enough, then the memory may cause crashing. To counteract this, you should change the memory speed to 166Mhz or 133Mhz.

yea, use a memory divider... and that cooler will be perfectly adequate, if not then more than adequate... in fact my personal opinion is that its going to keep it cooler than it even needs to be.
either way, cooler is better! more stable and longer lasting!
