Maxtor Maxline II 300 GB ATA Hard Drive

Some of that read my post befor probbly know what i am asking here.

I am looking for a harddrive (slave drive) to save animations and dvd things like that.

this is the hard drive.
Maxtor Maxline II 300 GB ATA133 Hard Drive
Here is my computer.
Sony Vaio Pcv - RX550

whould that harddrive work in my computer?

some one told me that that hard drive can only transper files at no more than 40 or 50MB/S

My connection download can go up to 180 to 190KB/S
whould that hard drive be able to write the data at that speed?

and it only have 2MB of Buffer and 5400 RPM is that going to be a problem. comsidering what i am using it for?

will it be ok. i think the harddrive that i have in my compuer is ATA/100 and that one is ATA133.


What is that ATA anyway?

1. For storing stuff 2MB is tons, 5400rpm is plenty fine.
2. Your system is ATA100 so the ATA133 drive will run at ATA100, no biggie
3. ATA = AT Attachment, a generic class of harddrives
