May Have an Error On My Drive

Seems like every time I run System Mechanic, it finds an error on my drive. It's not fixing it apparently, otherwise it wouldn't keep popping up. There any other software to fix it??

What error are you talking about? Can you be more specific please? What issues are you having?

Well Windows loads awful slow, I go to open Firefox, and it would take 30 sec to open. I just restarted it, and it said a SMART failure has occurred. Back up data and replace hard disc. A failure was immanent. Pressed F1, and Windows wouldn't even load. Gol darn check disc hung up on stage 4, probably due to a major error on the disc, so I did a force shut down. Well I think that wiped out some of Windows files. The guy that bought it from me, kept formatting it, installing different operating systems on it. Think that's how the drive became unreliable. I just sent it packing sooner.

The hard drive is failing, as the smart error has told you. Back up any data on there by slaving that drive to another system if possible and copy data over that way.

Gonna be a while before I can get another hard drive. Also, I hope they aren't a pain to change out in a laptop??

Sometimes its as easy as just taking the hard drive out of the laptop, removing the bracket and putting the bracket on the new drive and slipping it back in. Just depends on the laptop though.
