May I Please Have Some Advice/ Recommendations ? (Core i7 Board)

New Member
I was hoping to get the EVGA e759 Classified board for a new i7 920...but now I cannot find any for sale and I only see the e760 which does not have the nf200 chipset (for x16 PCIe SLI) and No ECP...
So, I was looking at the P6T7 Board and thinking of getting that, but I really want the e759...

any ideas? or any other recommendations or advice?.

All of the evga classified boards support SLI, actually all of the evga boards support SLI.

I appreciate your time and consideration...now only if that board supported 24gb of ram ...I also like how the classified supports 2000+mhz ram...

its a very limited group that can fit to my needs I believe...maybe I have to wait for something new even? (that sucks though cuz I am anxious and have everything else picked lol)....

Any other ideas?

I was actually just looking at a video about the MSI Eclipse -nice board...but IDK something holds me back?.
I like the Asus - does anyone know if it overclocks well? -I also wished it had points to read temperatures...
The gigabyte -Used to be my first choice, now I think I would rather prefer the p6t7 -even though I am unsure about getting an ASUS Mobo....

I just wonder how stable the p6t7 is and how good of an overclocker it is...and should I try to use a Xeon cpu ?

For starters, the p6t7 has pretty much no reviews on any major review site, so its overclockability is in question. Of those there, the only ones that ive seen reviews showing its a good overclocker is the gigabyte and msi. Xeon cpu's arent really much different (if at all) from a standard core i7 cpu.
 
I really like the extra sound card with the eclipse...but I think I rather have the true PCIe 2.0 @ 16x...I can always add a sound card..

Maybe I should wait and see what new boards come out or what reviews come out for the p6t7?

Not sure why you're hung up on true x16 SLI because the only dual card setup that will utilize dual x16 SLI is 2 GTX 295's running in Quad SLI, but maybe that's what you're after.

Also not sure why you need more than 12Gigs of RAM.?

I can personally vouch for the EVGA E758-A1. It's a stellar board with exceptional overclocking abilities. EVGA support is second to none also.

I already have one gtx 295 so I will be getting another in the future...also I might have other cards to plug in and I would like everything to run at full speed...

--does the Classified e760 run pcie @ least at 16x/16x/8x ?...can anyone confirm that? I cant find it around anywhere so far...

I just don't see how 12Gigs would ever be a limiting factor, necessitating the need for up to 24Gigs. ? It's your money though. :good:

Classified is full x16, first 3 slots.
3-way SLI @ Full x16 Bandwidth per slot or
3-way SLI @ x16x16x8 with x8 VGA dedicated PhysX or
GTX295 Quad SLI @ x16x16 + GTX 295 dedicated PhysX @ x16

well I guess the real question left is which will overclock better, the ASUS P6T7 or the EVGA E760...

I know the E760 Has 300% More gold on the cpu slot...I dont know if that will make much of a difference??

Could you wait for a 759 to become available?

The EVGA BIOS's are an overclocking enthusiasts dream.
They tailor them to maximize full overclocking potential.
They constantly come out with BIOS revisions to add
features and settings.

I'm not sure about ASUS.

*damn* haha..I really hate to limit myself like that...759's are discontinued from what I hear...

Using tri-sli does not really increase gpu performance. I was thinking about running three cards and then I did some research. Most games are only built on no more than a dual gpu system, meaning you won't get higher settings if you were to run three cards.
