Hello,
Just a thought, maybe the one of the admins could do some sort of ping 101 where you could give people more of an insight before posting in regards to bad ping problem related to gaming.
Something along the lines of telling them to post theyre specs and look at the obvious things like there PSU (which I didnt think was very important until one canadian guy *cough* praetor *cough*
explained its importance when I posted up a new build I was on with) and also overheating, I posted here a while ago regarding lags and my ping only to find my dell laptop was overheating and I have to use a fan (the same one you would use in an office desk, to blow into the intake vent and keep things cool) to let me play lag free. (not that Im saying its standard practice with this problem, but dhort term it works for me just fine
)
obviously it would have to cover basics too like 'have you any other programs running like P2P and have you checked for infections of any sort. Also what connection you have and where you are connecting too etc.
I think I would be a good thing for the gaming section and would make things easy as for most cases you could just post a link in the thread concerned and let the person with the problem troubleshoot and then post back if the problem still persists.
I know the admins havent got all day to maintain the CF but it might be something worth while to in the future.
Mike
