McAFee 2008 Total Protection or Avira AntiVir?

Which one is better?

The retail version of McAFee 2008 Total Protection

Or

Avira AntiVir Free?

All i know about McAFee is that its a resource how like none other. I get a free subscription to it, with Comcast, but i dumped it a few months ago and now go with AVG

Never had a single virus stayed more than an hour and a half on my computer, and only two viruses in 5 years.

Avira is better because it's free, McAfee is boring.

I would go with avira since its free and it runs better on my computer. Mcafee slows my some of my programs down.
