McAfee for Windows11?

I don't see this question specifically addressed in the forum, so I will ask: Do I need or want to activate McAfee security on my new HP laptop running Win11? It is pre-installed and has a good initial price, but is it better than the built-in security in Win11, or will it waste memory and be redundant?
I have a week to decide whether or not to keep it.

Mcafee and Nortons are resource hogs. For most people, the built in windows defender does ok. I would just recommend downloading free Malwarebytes and scan your pc at least once a month or every couple weeks just to keep it clean.

I have been seeing different protections, but you can get them with other less resource-intensive applications like what John has mentioned.

And Norton always seem to have a deal. So no real shocker there
