mcafee not detecting files ...

i recently got a years subscription of mcafee internet security after joining sky tv and broadband but it isnt working as well as a trial i had last year.

its slow, where the trial would do 50 files a second this full version is scanning maybe 100 files in anything up to 5 seconds, and its not even detecting some malicious files. it picks up cookies and everything but it seems to have a problem with spyware and trojans. today i scanned with mcafee then did a free online scan with panda activescan and it picked up stuff that mcafee obviously missed. why isnt it working properly? its updated and every option is turned on so why wont it work properly?

any help would be greatly appreciated ... thanks ...

EDIT: panda activescan even just came up with a virus. my computer has a virus and mcafee wont detect it, this is getting even worse.

I don't think Mcafee is going to solve your problem. Even i had these type of problems and i had to switch on to another antivirus to solve the problem. You should try another antivirus like AVG or Norton. Norton will definately help you.

Try AVG..or AVAST antivirus Pro do not use NORTON. After Nortons Subscription/Trial ends it infects your computer with Viruses/Worms and typically makes you buy another subscription.. I know this from experience.
