ok for the laptop iam gettin MCE as an os umm since its not the best in protection what do u reccomend i use for spyware,antivirus exc like purchaseing the disk

You can save some monay on a few freeware antivirus and a pair of adware/spyware removers. Once downloaded you can save these to cd-rws or burn them intact to cd-rs even data dvds. AVG, Ewido, and AdAware are popular freewares to have. Here are the links for them.

Grisoft also has an anti spyware/adware freeware at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/ewido-anti-spyware-free/lng/us/tpl/v5 That will catch the things that another freeware named AdAware SE Personal will miss. and take a look at Avast! Home Edition.
I use it for Linux and Windows, and It's always worked quite well. For Windows, you can even do boot time scans, but make sure a virus on your computer won't interfear with the scan. It's got several good themes, too.

The one thing I noticed on Avast was the phising attack notification when you got to a bad site where something was about to be copied onto the system. Lately AVG came to live out of nowhere when one site copied a trojan right to the root directory of the primary drive. AVG had already been disabled from starting up along with Windows when that happened. Having a good familiarity with several programs along with some specific removers is the thing that helps the most.
