Could somebody please confirm to me my following question. I would like to ask again, to be sure, before i open £400 worth of ram, and realise it needs to be sent back to the supplier.

Will DDR2 Ram, at the speed of 667 work in a mobo supporting DDR2 at only the speed of 533?

Thanks

Adam

400 british pounds for DDR2-667? sounds like a major ripoff to me.

Technically, it should. However, do computers always work as they are suppose to? :P Forget the difference in speeds, certain brands of RAM could even cause problems with motherboards. It's a guessing game!

But yes...it will probably work :P

*edit* I didn't even catch that amount! Yes, that seems like quite a rip off!

400 pounds... Hmmm..... I guess if you can afford 24k solid gold RAM, go for it.

Anyways, the bonus of underclocking RAM is that you can tighten the timings on it. You won't notice much of a difference, mind you, but you will see a slight increase in benchmarks. Perfect if you're a little geek that hangs out at 3dmark. :P
