Hello,
I have a quick question about DDR Ram

Currently I am using PC2100 266MHz 256MB

And wish to Upgrade.
My motherboard Specs recommends this Pc2100 Ram, but while looking online it is a bit more costly than some of the sales i have seen.

can I put PC3200 400MHz 512MB into my motherboard, and it will just run as fast as the Pc2100

I am just looking at Saving money, and possible expantion for when i get a new motherboard in 6 months time.

Kool thing about DDR is that you can put in all different kinds of speeds and they will all run at the slowest of them all....like if you have 1 stick of 2100 and another of 2700 and another of 3200 and another of 4000 they will all run at 2100 with no problems......

You have to know the specs of your MOBO if it can handle pc3200, check with powerleap.com or crucial.com and see what upgrade you can put on your PC.

Thanks for your help everyone.

This is the first time using the forum and the its great.
Quick replies and good help!!

Keep up the good work,

Drew

What motherboard is it?

Theoretically yes but PC2100 motherboards tend to have "problems" dealing with anything other than PC2100 and PC1600. Worth a shot i guess.
