Memory issue

Ive been having trouble installing my operating system. Im trying to install windows xp pro but about 30% of the way through I start getting a number of error messages. It starts with 'Setup cannot copy the file dvdplay.exe'. It then gives me three options, retry, restart or ignore.
Ive tried everything but its not loading a large number of files.
I recently found out that this may be a memory issue.
My system specs are in my signature.
The ram i have is 2x 1gb corsair vs1gb667d2.
Is this ram compatible.

"DDR2 Standard - DDR2 800" was seen at newegg when looking over the board specifications there. The wrong memory if not defective memory can cause a number of issues. When buying memory for any make and model board you want to match it. Newegg is one of the online vendors that accurately list what is supported on the model board they carry. The user's manual and support site provided by Asus will also indicate what memory is supported.
