Memory Problem need help

i have 2 questions:
1. why does my computer crash everytime i try to view videos? my computer would turn to this big blue screen that says something about the memory or something. its really annoying.

2. is crucial memory any good?

im running:
900 mhz athlon
2 sticks of crucial 256 sd ram
120 gig hard drive
not sure about the mother board
geforce 5200 128
it was an HP and i tried to upgrade it
windows XP

i know... its crap... but i can still run half life 2 off of it! kinda amazing

There is nothing wrong with crucial memory. What player do you use when it crashes or does it crash no matter what player you use?
 
well it use to be when i play videos... but now im noticing its carshing all the time... after i run something that uses a lot of memory. i reformatted my cpu many times, but it still acts like this... what the hell?
 
What is the *actual* message you see on the blue screen?

"Memory parity" or an error code + stuff, or what?

Yup, BSOD messages do mean something to me ... sad ain't it :o
