OK well my computer was all fine and now sometimes like evey like 3 hoursish this message comes up (only happened twice so far(started i came back from lan party)) ok so the message says something like physical memory error (or something(forgot 2 copy it down and post it wen it happens again)) but its somehting like 0x00000000 then somemore 0x00000000 something like that maybe some letter and other numbers but 0000 so maybe like 0xf45h6000x like that (im sure some of u've seen it before)and like its all blue(covers ur whole screen and u cant do anything but restart) i've had this problem before so i kinda no whats happend(either program program problem or new installation(hardware) least i think i kinda no whats wrong) but i donno like where 2 start so i'll tell u what's happen the night of my lan party cause i installed a new hdd aswell. OK so i installed a new hdd on my 2nd IDE line(or wat eva its called.. port or something) as master my CD-rom as slave on my 2nd IDE line had 2 IDE hdd on my 1st IDE line one 250gig as my boot(master) and a 150 gig for storage(as slave) so all eveything on my 1st IDE is origional or well working fine my CD-rom use to be master(cause it was the only thing on the 2nd IDE)but now i've changed it to slave(cause of new hdd 250gigs) so i asked someone to like format my hdd cause i didnt no how to .. it showed up but like i couldnt format it(cause u no new hdd needs formatting) so he jst chucked in the windwos xp sp2(64bit edition) and formatted it but it was like format and install but i only installalled like a little after i relised he had formated and install i jst took out the cd after the restarting part of it(so my comptuer reconises that theres 2 OS)but only my origional works (windows xp sp2 32bit) and the 64bit needs either finishing installing(which im planing 2 upgrade 2)or deleting untill i can be bothered upgrading. and i also installed a few games at the lan party but i dont think thats the problem i think its either my hdd installation or the windows xp 64bit one .. something like that sorry this post is so long but had 2 explain everything so would appreciate help on anything even like how i can format a new hdd next time without half installing windows(cause it shows up in device manager but not on mycomptuer so u cant like right click format if u know wat i mean)

Thanks

First try slowing down a little and leaving a gap or two between paragraphs. The error messages being seen are most likely due to the clumsy way the drives were set up along with the bad choice of installation disks used to partition and format the new 250gb drive.

With the addition of the new drive no installation disk was even needed. The Disk Management tool found under "Administrative Tools>Computer Management" in the control panel would have been normally used if no other means like a disk partitioning software was onhand. When adding the 250gb drive in you could have moved the 160gb to the secondary ide cable as slave to the cd drive. That should have remained set as the master there.

To delete the current partition on the new drive you don't go through the device manager or Windows Explorer tied in with MyComputer. You first go into the control panel and find the administrative tools icon and double click on that. Once the next screen opens up look for the computer management icon and open that. In the next screen there look for storage. Once that is opened look for the disk management link and open that up.

In the disk management window all drives(HDs and optical alike) will be seen as rectangular blocks iwith a drive letter on each. First know which drive letter is used for the first 250gb and 160gb drives. The new drive will see "unallocated" along with the size of the drive. You know there is only one other 250gb called "C" installed. You right click on the "unallocated" not "C"!
