Memory timings thread

Hey people,

ive created this post for those those of you (Including myself) who are just lost when it comes to understanding memory timings and what are the best.

now my ram is running in the sig in rig at 6-6-6-18 but i heard 5-5-5-15 is better?

i tried manualy setting it to 5-5-5-15 but my system wont boot?

im just hoping that this post will help people understand more about memory timings and what settings to aim for.

Going from 666/18 to 555/15 you probably will have to bump your voltage up some.

my ram is already at 2.2V,i wont risk pushing it anymore and to be honest i dont think i should have to anyway?

It says 555/18 at 2.1V. That OCZ just looks like overclocked DDR2 667. Thats the reason it taking so much voltage. Good DDR2 800 at 555/15 should only take like 1.8/1.9V

according to the reviews it will run at 5-5-5-18 at 1.9v so im thinking it has to do with my overclock or something?

could my cpu multiplayer or fsb effect the way timings go?

my system gets 5.9 rating in vista all the way.

Yeah running it a 428/856 will make alittle difference as far as the voltage needed.

The lower the timings, the better.
