memory timings

hi this might be a silly question...

my ddr3 timings are 9-9-9-24 what will happen if i lower them from my bios menu?? i mean will my performance rise??? and what are the risks??

thanks

yes tightening the timing will increase performance a little you probably not see it. you will need to increase the voltage a little, after you need to test it to see if its stable.

i just got done doing this for the first time, i changed to 8-8-8-24 and am @ 1634mhz. I dont no if its a placebo but im pretty sure my system got faster.

that first number cas will make the biggest difference unless you can switch it from t2 to t1 taht first number you should definitely notice a difference

increase voltage?? my voltage is 1.65 and i know that i7 will be fried if ram voltage grows above 1.7...

i want to change the timings because i use music production programs and ram timings and frequencies make a big difference... for example changing the frequency to 1600 made some of my projects run extremely smoothly, which didn't in the past.... so i think i will see difference..

thanks for the help..
