Hello, I have a new HP Pavilion 500-056 PC with windows 8. it has 8GB memory located in one memory slot. I plan on adding another 8GM memory stick of the same kind to one of the other free open spots. which do I use? They are not numbered, but the 1st memory stick is in the first "blue" slot then there is another slot and then beside that there is another "blue" slot followed by another slot. thanks in advance for the help, P

The colours are to guide you so you would put the other stick in the other blue slot, have you check what maximu memory capacity of your motherboard is ?

Yes you certainly should because aswell as having twice the amount of memory, you will now be running in dual channel mode.
