i have just built apc and it works fine untill i go to burn a dvd as soon as it goes to wright the dvd to disk the pc shuts down to a blue screen and tells me to disable caching or shadowing dont know if this is memory problem but please help

It sounds like you have some DMA issues. Try updating your DVD Burner drivers/firmware from the manufacturers website. If this fails, you may need to check your hard drive for errors or you may need to use some hard disk recovery software. Hope this helps

Try to get the actual error number of the bue screen, that can help alot.

I know in your BIOS shadowing is almost always disabled. I have no idea how it would affect DVD burning, but might be worth a shot to make sure it's disabled.
