i have a tosibia m115-s1061 and would like to add 512 to the 512 i have now. i bought a kingston 512 chip but not sure if i got the right one. i got a kvr533d2so/512r.will this work?
well if it fits in the slot without any forcing the only thing that might not be quite right would be the speed, but it should work if it fits, and if not just pull it back out. In theory if it's not the right ram then it won't fit.
PC2-4200 DDR2 memory upto 1gb sized dimms is the memory. The information on the Kingston available at http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=131001 shows that to be the correct notebook memory. But is the current memory the same as the new Kingston dimm just bought as far as speed and latency? You want to match what you have already or replace that with another Kingston dimm if there's a difference.
