mhz or total ram better

Which would give better performance...hi level gaming machine..

6 GB RAM at 1600 MHz DDR3 OR 12 GB RAM 1333 MHz DDR3?

Windows vista machine; intel I7 chip

Honestly, I'd go with the faster. Typically the speed of RAM doesn't make that much of a difference, but I seriously doubt you'll need 12GB. The only time I ran out of memory is when I had about 11GB of 1080p videos loaded in Premiere Pro :P
