Mic drifts in and out

I currently have an Asus motherboard that needs upgrading. It also has a feature that has come to drive me crazy. It detects when I plug in a mic or speakers and displays a pop-up message. The inlet for the mic has some physical fault making the mic drift in and out driving me nuts when using things like TeamSpeak etc. If I just tap the plug it might work for a few minutes before dying again. What I'm saying is that I really hate this feature but I fear that all of Asus cards have it. Anyone know what this feature is called?

You should have some options from that feature on the taskbar (near the clock)
that give the option to not autosense jacks.
