I am stuck on a formula that i am trying to get basically i want a cell that indicates that 7 of the cells in the column say yes and then this cell will be formatted green for yes or red for no. if anybody knows how to do this please reply as i am stressed out with trying too work it out. cheers gaz:mad:
 
Here are some tips.

If you want to show how many cells in a particular range contain the word yes, you can use something like:

=COUNTIF(range,"yes")

If you want the text of a cell to be green when it contains yes and red when it contains no, you can use Conditional Formatting.

For the first condition, specify Cell value is equal to ="yes" and for the format, choose the green color.

For the second condition, specify Cell value is equal to ="no" and for the format, choose the red color.
