Microsoft Office 97, htmlmarq.ocx

I tried to install an old copy of Microsoft Office 97 that I had, (can't afford the latest version), on my PC running Windows XP Home, and it installs but can't complete. It gets around three fourths install then reads cannot complete installation, htmlmarq.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry.

Any cures for this? Thanks, Dan

You probably have SP2 installed. And this is one of the messes the SP2 does to your system...
Try disabling the "Web Page Authoring (HTML)" and "HTML converter" when custom installing Office.
