Alright everyone?
Is there a difference between "Microsoft Office" & "Microsoft Office XP"
and I recently tried to open a Word document and the first time it said "cannot open original document and never opened anything anyway:confused:. The next time I tried to open the document, no message appeared but it still didn't open

Microsoft Office is a product, Microsoft Office XP is a version of said product.

That being said, what is the file extension? (.doc, .docx, .txt, ect.)
If it doesn't say in the file name Right click on it and go to properties.

I have been using Office since Office 97 version (I think that was what it was called) and I now use Office XP. I'm still not impressed. Word works fine but Outlook is crap that crashes all the time. I switched to Thuderbird (it's free) and it works so much better.

You able to get a program and you install it and it makes 97 or office XP able to read the new office files and you do your work in that.

But if i was to recommend an office version to anyone it would be 07 but the specs of comp have to be goodish - 1GB ram.
