Microsoft Photos not showing images.

Hello. I thought I had solved the issue of the Photos App not opening on my PC. I uninstalled the app and re-installed it. My images showed again, including images from USB storage. However, once the PC is switched off and on again, the app fails to show images. I have read of complaints from other users of the Microsoft Photos App with similar problems but I am yet to see a credible solution.

Would a different Photo editor be a solution to looking at images?
