Microsoft Security Essentials

Hi all

My AVG Security Suite is coming up for renewal and I'm thinking of knocking it on the head and trying out Microsoft Security Essentals.

I know it's been spoken about before but I would really like an update from anyone using it or has used it. I know it doesn't have a firewall but is it adequate for anti-virus and spyware protection and has it improved since first released?

I don't want to hear about any other alternative, only MSE.

I used it for about 3 months on my laptop. It was easy to download and install, seemed to work great for me. Never had any issues with it. It is really light weight and does not tax the system resources at all.

Once my Norton subscription runs out on my 3 x computers...I might consider using it on all of them.

Cheers ScOut, I've no complaints with AVG other than it seems to be too much of a "babysitter". I think Security Suites are becoming a bit OTT and resource heavy so was looking at Microsofts basic but enough protection.

I think it will be nice for me also...I don't go to crazy places on the web and everything I download I buy. It has a nice menu and really easy to use.
