Microsoft Surface Studio PC Announced

Honestly though, if you were to buy something as capable as that screen, Wacom will probably charge you twice the price for something like that.

Only thing I'm disappointed about is the elected choice of using a 980M rather than the new pascal stuff.

My brother is an artist and has been looking at the big Cintiq computer. Showed him this and the price point and hardware immediately piqued his interest. Think the Cintiq he was looking at before was at least a grand or two more.

Exactly my point. It's value for money for a targeted group of people.

But to the rest of us average joes, this product makes no sense for us. It's like the people who freaking buy MacBook Pro's to just go on facebook and web browse.

Exactly. I know a girl that has a Mac worth than my desktop and that's exactly what she does with it. We're not the target demo.

Some pretty cool things in those announcements.

I thought the Surface Studio was the most interesting, although I think there is a huge flaw in the system that hopefully Microsoft will correct before launch. Having a glossy 28" display with high glare is a fat negative. I have never seen graphic designers use anything other than matte displays with their work stations. I also do photoshopping for some of my clients and I use a 27" non-glare screen. The glare won't show up much on bright color projects, but if you are working on a dark graphic, photo or video then you will definitely be seeing what's behind or above you on your display. Microsoft is going after the graphic designer/engineer with the Surface Studio and the last thing those users would want to see is mirrored surroundings on their Surface.

The Surface Dial looks pretty awesome. From what I understand you can use the dial with any device running Windows 10. There are some extra features that will only work on the Surface Studio, but I will probably order this gadget anyway just out of curiosity.

Paint 3D...can't wait to get my hands on it. :D
