microsoft time AM/PM is messed up, help!!!

hey guys, i am fixing a computer for someone and can figure out why the clock is messed up, it stays on AM all the time, except for if you change it to 12, then its pm, but after an hr it goes back to am. i put a screenshot on here too note the glitchy am/pm selection....

Try cold starting
then try messing with the clock and date, changing the time back and forth, or even the year (once a program on my windows XP didn't install becuase of time, or something like that. I switched to 2010, then back to 2006, and it worked.)
then mess with other setting related to time.

if all of the above deosn't work, then its a software problem and i wouldn't know what to do. Sorry.

check the internet time tab, there should be a check box somewhere that you can stop it from automagically syncing with the time server.

i tried that, doesnt work. i also tried changing everything and then back to how it should be and nothing. i also changed time zones saved closed, opened, reset back to central time zone, and resaved, and its still there..

also note that i tried changing display settings and the DPI setting, and neither seemed to fix the glitch. any one else got any ideas?

replace the CMOS battery, it might be failing which resets the time...

Try removing and then reinstalling the cmos battery (when Computer is off).

Should reset it.
