Microsoft Visual Studio

i think it must be possible to write dx10 applications in c++ but you need to know how... and if you are new to programming i don't think it's very good to start immediately with dx10

Well thanks yeah i should start with dx9 bu what i mean is when im experienced enough to write dx10 games do i need to use c++ or c# is there a new language for dx10? That simple game i link in my first post was in dx9 in c# from microsoft.

i'm absolutely not sure, because i don't work with it, but i think dx10 doesn't have any specially language. you need only download libraries a include and use it in you program... something like for example GTK.

I think it should work, but it wouldn't be very easy. Try starting out with something a bit more basic. Like a simple paint program, that's what I did.

I have made on program and it's a dashboard, I need to learn how to program. Making a game would confuse me badly, make some simple stuff first.

I haven't tried making a game yet either. Lately I've been working on some desktop sicky notes that are cusomizeable. I can't figure out how to put an opacity control on it though, I have it set at 85% opacity, but I want a preferences dialog that you can change opacity with.

I sure hope you aren't asking me, I suck at programming. All these internet guides fill your mind with garbage and expect you to know what to do with it, I have looked around for a Visual Basic for Dummies book and can't find one. I did pick up one that said Hacking for Dummies and haven't had the time to read it. I don't feel like ordering a book when Barnes and Noble is just a few miles away.
