Microsoft voucher...revealed

Hey guys, remember that microsoft voucher thing I was asking about? Well, I finally got it, along with the full story. The voucher allows me to go on the employee discount store and spend up to $200 of my own money. So i was looking around and found...well mostly junk.

Such as...

Microsoft T-shirts, mugs, pens, candy, badge holders, golf balls etc...

And then, I saw windows XP Sp2 home for $25, pro for $35, microsoft office 2003 pro for $60 and office student for $25. Good deals eh? Well my voucher doesn't allow me to purchase softwares

However, I legally got office 2003 for <$5. Something with my dad's job.

I got Office for nothing, my friend has a computer biz that is a retail buyer directly from Microsoft. So, he has like so many licenses of Microsoft OS's and software, he gave me one and saved me $400.

I got office for free...Its called openoffice. Seriously those are some amazing offers from microsoft, but then again...its microsoft. I cant believe you actually thought they would sell you something like xp for 25 bucks. :/

However, I have no clue what voucher your talking about, was it a previous thread? Link please?

yeah well now MS might try suing these open source communities for pattent infringement because honestly, they are losing sales to open source versions of office. 5 years ago the open source office suites were not as good, today they are almost identical in performance and compatibility.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out

I don't pay generally for software licenses, working IT. Most companies reps will give us a few free versions of software for us to test out to see if we want to purchase it. I have an OEM factory sealed copy of windows vista ultimate right here on my desk, that I may one day decide to install on my PC.
