Microsoft Word..Can Anyone Help Please?

I am really mystified as to what happened so if anyone could help me out please do! Right... Last week i typed up an essay for school on microsoft word. I am 100% sure i saved it all and i also saved my work every few paragraphs as i was going along. However today i have gone back to finish my work and I have been left with 4 paragraphs - about 1/4 of what i had written! Its so odd as it seems to have just dissapeared?!? The other really odd thing is that a few months ago when i was first assigned the same essay, i started doing it. However i never finished it and when i went back to retreive it a couple of months later it had gone. And now the second time of doing it most of it has been deleted?!? I really don't get it so if anyone could help me out. I know i probably won't be able to retreive it now but has anyone had this happen to them? I'm just a bit freaked out as the same essay has not dissappeared twice? :confused: Please someone reply! Thanks so much you guys! xxx
 
well either you're not saving it, which you seem to be doing, or you are saving it with a diferent filename in another location. So have you tried searching for it from
Start - Search ?
 
Yeah I would do a search for it...it should be saved somewhere because microsoft word does an automatic save every two minutes or something.
 
Aw thanx you guys! Luckily my old essay has now turned up after doing a search for it - however i'm sure it wasn't there before but hey i got it now so it doesn't matter!!! Thanks so much ! xxx :D
