Midrange gaming

So my girlfriend is finally getting a computer, but her dad wont let her build one, I have tried to convince her to build one for weeks now. Having said that i have looked at dell (dont really like them), and ibuypower.comm to config some computers that are near the $1500 range. No need for mouse or keyboard, a monitor would be nice, but not needed. Any suggestions for a computer with potential for future upgrades? I have built a computer for a bit over 1500 that had a intel E6300 and two gforce 7900GT's. anything better than that. Its going to be mostly for gaming, but I also want it to be able to be upgraded and be decent for the next 2-3 years. Any websites or configs would help thanks alot.

You don't want to get any mainstream computer if you are planning to upgrade later. All sort of problems with the OS (it's hardware specific most of the time...) and various other unique hardware issues. Don't get me wrong you can upgrade, but it becomes a lot harder with having these type of systems...
